Documentation
Prior to the commencement of construction documentation the proposed construction approach is determined based on the requirements of the project brief including factors such as site location and access, budget, time constraints and the availability of labour and materials. This determines the form of documentation required.
Construction Documentation is prepared to:
- clearly set out a "building process" to ensure ease and efficiency of construction;
- clearly illustrate construction detail;
- coordinate the integration of structural and service systems into the building;
- elaborate relevant schedules;
- ensure compliance with the relevant legislative requirements (eg. BCA) and the requirements of statutory authorities as necessary.
Documentation is produced "in house" by experienced draftspersons. Preferences for drawing transmission (email, disc or hardcopy) will be discussed and agreed with the Client and consultants at the commencement of the project.
Regular meetings are held with secondary consultants to coordinate their work to ensure complete and comprehensive documentation of the project. Quality systems employed within the office ensure thorough checking of all documentation, including documentation by secondary consultants, at critical stages.
