Approach

At Q3 Architecture we have a professional and personal commitment to producing socially and environmentally sustainable buildings.

To achieve this goal effective communication is paramount. We undertake the discussion necessary to become fully conversant with the requirements of our clients and to understand the needs of all project stakeholders, including building owners, managers and end users, in order to develop a comprehensive design brief.

We seek to identify constraints and opportunities by undertaking a thorough investigation of the site, context, climate, statutory requirements and applicable construction techniques and technologies.

Designs are developed in response to identified constraints and the requirements of the design brief, and are progressively tested and revised during the design process in response to feedback from our clients. We employ a range of media techniques to communicate design ideas during this process.

Environmentally sustainable design principles form a strong component of our work and are incorporated into all projects. This includes a commitment to passive solar design, the consideration of embodied energy, toxicity and durability in relation to material selection, ongoing research into applicable energy efficient systems and the conservation and recycling of water and power. We aim, through early research into building systems and available technologies and by producing clear and concise documentation, to maximise the efficiency of the construction process, minimise cost and return a sustainable outcome to our clients.

During construction we spend significant time and effort in managing the construction process to ensure that the built product is consistent with the intent of the drawings and that the building is delivered on time and on budget.
We aim in all our work to deliver buildings which are functional, durable and comfortable, contribute positively to the built environment and exceed the expectations of our clients.
